One of the most popular trends in home décor right now is macramé plant hangers. They are easy to make, and you can find all the supplies you need at your local craft store. You can also get creative with the beads and colors you use to personalize your plant hanger.
In this post, we will show you how to make a quick and easy DIY beaded macramé plant hanger.
Easy Macrame Plant Hanger | Spiral Knots | DIY Plant Holder with beads for Beginners
This plant hanger is so easy and quick to make, and it looks great! I love the way the beads add a little bit of glamour to an otherwise simple design. This would be a great project for beginners, or for anyone who wants to add a personal touch to their home décor.
You can find all the supplies you need for this project at your local craft store. Start by cutting four lengths of cord, each about 3 feet long. Tie the cords together at one end, then thread on your beads.
I used wooden beads in different sizes, but you can use any type of bead you like. Once you’ve added all your beads, tie the cords together at the other end.
Next, take two of the cords and tie them together in the middle, making sure that the beads are facing outwards.
Repeat with the other two cords. Now you should have four “arms” hanging down from the center knot. Take each arm and tie it around a pot or planter (I used pots that were 4 inches wide).
Make sure that the arms are evenly spaced around the pot, then tighten the knots so that they’re secure.
Your plant hanger is now complete! Hang it up indoors or out, and enjoy your new creation!
Diy Beaded Plant Hanger
A beaded plant hanger is a beautiful and unique way to display your plants. It is also a great project for those who enjoy crafting and beading. There are a few things you will need to get started on your own beaded plant hanger.
First, you will need some beads! You can use any type of bead, but we recommend using glass or metal beads for this project. Second, you will need some wire.
We recommend using 20 gauge craft wire for this project. Third, you will need something to hang your plant hanger from. A hook in the ceiling works well, or you could even use a nail or screw in the wall.
Finally, you will need some plants! Choose plants that have similar watering needs so that they can all live happily together in their new home.
Now that you have everything gathered, it’s time to start crafting!
Begin by threading your beads onto the wire. We recommend using about 30 beads per foot of wire. Once all of your beads are threaded on, bend the wire in half so that the two ends meet.
Twist the wires together to secure them in place. Continue twisting the wires until they are tightly secured and there is no risk of the beads falling off.
Next, take your hanging object and Threaded Bead Plant Hanger over it so that the middle of the hanger is resting on top of the object (this could be a hook in the ceiling or a nail/screw in the wall).
Take one end of the wire and wrap it around itself several times until it is secure (about 5-6 wraps should do it). Cut off any excess wire with scissors and tuck in any sharp edges so that they don’t scratch surfaces or catch on clothing/hair/etc..
How to Make Easy Macrame Plant Hanger
Looking for a fun and easy weekend project? Why not try your hand at making a macrame plant hanger! Macrame is a form of decorative knotting that dates back to the 13th century, and it’s enjoying a resurgence in popularity today.
This particular design is great for beginners, as it only uses basic knots. And once you get the hang of it, you can easily make adjustments to customize the size and shape of your plant hanger. So gather up some supplies and give it a try!
Here’s what you’ll need:
-4mm cotton cord (at least 3 yards)
-Scissors
-Tape measure or ruler
-Piece of cardboard (optional)
1. Cut four lengths of cord, each 36 inches long.
Fold the cords in half and use scissors to create a small loop at the top. This will be where you attach your hanger later on.
2. Take two strands of cord and tie them together using a basic knot (also called a square knot).
Make sure the loops are facing the same direction before pulling tight. Repeat with remaining two strands of cord.
3a.
To make the first row of knots, take two adjacent strands and tie them together using a basic knot, making sure the loops are facing opposite directions this time. Pull tight and repeat with all remaining pairs of strands until you have four knots total.
3b. For the second row of knots, take two adjacent pairs of strands (i.e., those that are already knotted together) and tie them together using a basic knot once again, making sure the loops are facing opposite directions this time around too . . .
Boho Macrame Plant Hanger Diy
Looking to add some plant life to your home décor? This boho macrame plant hanger is the perfect DIY project! It’s simple to make and adds a beautiful, natural touch to any room.
What You’ll Need:
-4mm cotton cord (approx. 50m)
-1 small pot or planter
-Scissors
-Tape measure or ruler
-Pencil or pen
Instructions:
1. Cut four lengths of cord, each 2.5 metres long. Fold the cords in half and tie a knot at the centre, then tape the knots to a flat surface.
2. To create the ‘web’ pattern, take two pieces of cord and tie them together at the centre with a double knot. Continue tying pairs of cords together until all eight pieces are knotted in the middle. Trim any excess cord.
3. Now take one piece of cord from each outermost pair and tie them together in the middle with a double knot, forming a new square shape with four ‘legs’ (cords). Repeat this step until you have four squares formed in total – this forms the base of your plant hanger.
4a) For a pot that is larger than 12cm diameter , continue adding more squares by taking one piece of cord from each outermost pair and tying them together in the middle with double knots .
You should now have eight ‘legs’ (cords).
4b) If you are using smaller pots , finish off your hanger by simply plaiting/braiding three strands down before making another knot at desired length for hanging . Trim away any excess cord . Your hanger is now complete!
Diy Macrame Plant Hangers
Macrame is a form of textile-making that uses knotting techniques to create intricate patterns. It’s often used to make wall hangings, plant hangers, and other decorative items.
If you’re interested in trying your hand at macrame, there are plenty of online tutorials and resources available.
You’ll need some basic supplies like rope or cord, scissors, and something to use as a frame or loom (a dowel rod or branches taped together will work). Once you’ve gathered your materials, you can start practicing some of the basic knots.
Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can start creating your own designs.
There are endless possibilities when it comes to macrame – so let your imagination run wild!
Long Macrame Plant Hanger
Macrame plant hangers are a beautiful way to display your plants, and they’re surprisingly easy to make! In this post, we’ll show you how to make your own long macrame plant hanger.
You’ll need:
-4mm cotton cord (we used about 6m for our hanger)
-Scissors
-Tape measure or ruler
-Pot (for sizing)
Start by measuring out your cord. You’ll need four pieces that are twice the height of your pot, plus an extra piece that is 1.5 times the height of your pot.
Cut the cord with scissors and then use tape measure or ruler to mark out equal intervals along each piece. We made ours 30cm apart but you can adjust according to the size of your pot and desired length of hanger.
Next, take two of the long pieces and tie them together at the first marked interval using a double knot.
Do the same with the other two pieces of cord. You should now have two pairs of cords, each with a double knot at one end.
Now take one pair of cords and tie a double knot around the middle of the other pair, as shown above.
This will be the top of your hanger so make sure it’s tied securely!
Split the four cords into two groups of two and begin making square knots down the length of each group, keeping them close together as you go. To make a square knot, take one cord over another and then under – pull tight before repeating with the other cord in order to create a ‘knot’ shape as shown in our photo above.
When you reach the bottom mark on your cords, tie off both groups with a double knot and trim any excess cordage with scissors.
Your long macrame plant hanger is now complete – simply place your potted plant inside and enjoy!

What is a Beaded Macrame Plant Hanger
A beaded macrame plant hanger is a type of decorative hanging made from knots and beads. It is typically used to display plants, but can also be used for other purposes such as holding lanterns or other decorations. Beaded macrame plant hangers are usually made from natural materials such as cotton or jute, but can also be made from synthetic materials such as polyester or nylon.
The number and type of beads used varies depending on the design, but they are often strung along with the cords to add weight and stability.
How Do You Make a Beaded Macrame Plant Hanger
Assuming you would like a step by step guide on how to make a beaded macrame plant hanger:
You will need the following supplies:
-4mm beads
-Size E or 3.5mm crochet hook
-Scissors
-Tape measure or ruler
-1 skein of 4-ply cotton cord or rope, at least 36 yards long (we used about 1/3 of a skein of Lily Sugar’n Cream in Ecru)
Instructions:
1. Cut six strands of cord, each 36 inches long.
Fold the six strands in half and tie a loop knot about an inch from the fold. This will be the top of your plant hanger, where you’ll later insert your pot. Tape the knotted end to a flat surface so it doesn’t move around while you work.
2. Separate the strands into three groups of two and braid them together until you have about six inches of braided cord. You can secure the end with another loop knot or just tape it down so it doesn’t unravel.
3. Now it’s time to start crocheting!
With your crochet hook and one strand of cord, make a slipknot about 6 inches from the end (leaving plenty of tail for weaving in later). Insert your hook into the braid and yarn over (pulling up a loop), then pull through both loops on your hook – one chain stitch made! Continue making single crochet stitches along the braid until you reach the end.
Secure with a slipknot and cut off excess cord, leaving about 6 inches for weaving in later. Repeat with remaining two strands of cord.
4 . Once all three strands are crocheted, gently pull on each side of your work to slightly tighten/flatten out the braid (this is optional but gives a neater finish). Next, take two adjacent cords and tie them together with an overhand knot, making sure they’re nice and tight so your beads don’t slide off easily later on. Repeat this step every couple inches or so until you reach the bottom – when you get close to the end, leave enough space for adding your beads (we left about 2 inches).
5 . Now it’s time to add some beads! String them onto each strand before tying another overhand knot just above them (again, making sure it’s tight enough that they don’t slide off easily). We added 14 beads per strand but feel free to add more or less depending on how dense/beaded you want your plant hanger to look . . . just make sure there are an even number of beads per strand so they line up nicely when Braided Macrame Plant Hanger is complete! Finish tying knots at bottom and trim off any excess cord..
